Our Social Work Team
Our Social Work Fellows are selected from psychology programs and are trained in autism, education and inclusion to contribute to Mumbai's low income schools to build education and inclusion for autism for 1 academic year. For the 2026-27 academic year we are working out of 16 low income schools across Mumbai, catering to the inclusion of 120+ special needs students into their mainstream schools.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy toward autism inclusion and education is rooted in balanced ambition, tailored support and optimal inclusion. We know:
- Autism is a Bell Curve
Symptoms and severity shift with intervention or the lack thereof.
- It Requires Inclusive Practices
Studies have shown inclusion benefits students on the autism spectrum leading to worldwide movements advocating for children with ASD now attending mainstream schools.
- Support is Critical
For managing stressors, behaviours, academic goals & helping students access social and educational opportunities & accommodations.
- The Schooled and the Unschooled
A very small percent diagnosed at school receive trained, effective, daily intervention and millions in India remain outside of mainstream schools.
- An Autism Trained Personnel is Essential
While every school must have an autism trained personnel, we use our Social Work fellowship as a laboratory of training to understand this work, grow our learning and sharpen our understanding of autism and support needs at scale.

School Inclusion Program: Alag Par Ek
16 Low Income Schools
We work in direct intervention across 16 low income schools, supporting 300+ students daily through direct 1:1 support, in 100+ classrooms to help every child with autism meet their individual learning goals. We do this through our Tier 1 of work, where we train Social Work Fellows to work at Mumbai’s low income schools.
Modules of Learning
Modules of Learning for Inclusion is our e-learning program to take our learning, our knowledge, and programs with autism and inclusion to help schools and NGOs build their own inclusive practices.

Shudh Shodh
We use our research work to spread wide scale-nuanced awareness and studies for autism interventions in inclusion and their impact. We do this via films, white papers, public lectures, seminars and trainings. This is an area of work we're growing.
