John Wick is now an 19-year-old male within the high-functioning spectrum of Autism Spectrum Disorder, which was first suspected when his speech regressed at the age of 1. His mom felt that something wasn’t right, so she took me to a speech therapist, which later got diagnosed with autism. After undergoing various forms of therapy, he joined a special school at age 5 and was at intervals mainstreamed into the bigger school system. Slowly he learned to regulate and take care of himself while receiving a mainstream education with opportunities to train his skills in critical thinking, decision-making, group interactions, and communication. He also participated in activities such as Wrestling and Chess.
He has been playing the piano since he was 6, and have passed the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 8 Piano Performance Exam with merit in early 2021.
Today, after a resilient, strong, mainstreamed with generous support school life, he is at the University of Denver, Colorado, as a Biology major, studying, playing the piano and making friends.

Bradley is 9 at Oakwood International School today. As a baby, he didn’t respond to his name or to play and made fleeting eye contact, so at age 2 his mother took him to get tested to a paediatrician. He was soon after diagnosed moderate on the spectrum of autism, with speech delays and a possible learning disability. He attended a few therapies in the city before his mother admitted him to Oakwood International School, with a special educator on campus and a shadow teacher she could provide. With the help of a social work team, which included a speech and language pathologist, an OT, inclusive policies that the school stood by, a co taught classroom where extra focus was paid on the students with need by one and a school special educator- today, Bradley is at grade level with his peers, loves school, plays football, loves math, colouring and dancing and can be found telling long stories, which his teachers love listening to. He has overcome his speech delays and is currently learning to monitor his outbursts, moodiness with school work and occasional attempts to escape work and behaviours.

Samuel is a 19 year old on the autism spectrum, he was diagnosed at age 3, when his mother noticed repetitive behaviours like rocking, flapping hands, playing with the same toys and not responsive to his name or to external stimuli. By age 3, he was diagnosed on the spectrum of autism, by age 4, after a year at special school- his mother transitioned him to mainstream education at a small international school. He was pulled out from language classes for extra support with identifying objects, things of daily use, numbers and the alphabet. He spent the rest of his time in mainstream classrooms with peers, and at first movement then work was scaffolded for him by a special educator. With the help of a small team of home room teachers, a special educator and coaches outside of school who helped with extra curricular, today Samuel readies for his first out of school swimming championship and is worried about missing 6 days of school and leaving behind Bubba, his favourite stuff toy that goes with him everywhere.
Our team will work with a few children across the income bracket on the spectrum of autism through government or affordable private inclusive schools- and after school programs to develop an individualized education plan (IEP) tailored to their unique needs and abilities to ensure they’re accelerated to grade level learning as early as possible.
We will select and build excellent capacity in the space of autism and content knowledge for 10 selected teachers/ per year to be able to accelerate children and adolescents on the spectrum that they intervene with. Thus, getting further trained, qualified and paid through our foundation.
Our team will provide workshops and awareness for parents, families, regions impacted by autism across 60+ parts of India and data will be collected to check for understanding.
Our ground work tells us there are pertinent topics that have been left under researched and under developed, like how far we take our children on the spectrum academically to what implies intelligence and do we maximise that for our children and adoloscents on the spectrum. We will publish a minimum of 4 white papers each year based on our ground work.
We believe perspectives and intelligent voice play an integral role when it comes to covering the honest landscape of autism- through summits and conferences we will be sharing views with policy makers from our ground work and research.
